The quest for quality education has spurred the Government of Ebonyi State to sponsor over 750 students for their master’s and doctorate programs in Nigeria and overseas.
In his address to Ebonyi people on October 1, 2024, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru informed Ebonyians and the world that the State scholarship scheme has succeeded in securing admission for students of the program and made payment of necessary fees in that regard.
“The State Government, through the scholarship board, has secured admission for 576 students who have been admitted in various universities in Nigeria for their Masters and Doctorate studies, and 212 has been admitted in three Universities in the United Kingdom, with their fees completely paid” – Governor Nwifuru said.
In the United Kingdom, the State Government was able to negotiate and secure admission for the 212 students at the University of Bolton, Anglia Ruskin University, and Salford University Manchester.
Governor Francis Nwifuru had earlier set a target of sending 1000 students every year on scholarship for their programs, but due to the selection process which is purposeful and measured, the above numbers have been approved.
Below is the list of students sent for further studies on scholarship.
