Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has reiterated his commitment to continue to improve the welfare of Workers in the State.
He stated this when he received a report on the payment of pension and gratuity between 1996 to 2023 from the Committee.
Governor Nwifuru received the report in his Office, Ochoudo Centenary City on Thursday.
Receiving the report, Governor Nwifuru thanked the Committee for being meticulous in their assignment and promised that prompt payment of entitlements of retirees will remain the priority of his administration.
Earlier while presenting the report, the Committee Chairman, Professor Adeline Idike thanked the Governor for giving the retirees a new lease of life through the payment of their gratuity and other retirement benefits.
According to the Chairman, a total of two thousand, one hundred and seven retirees who retired within the period under review got their gratuity while a total of five billion, fifty seven million, four hundred and seventy four thousand, nine hundred and sixty six naira eighty seven kobo was expended in the process.
