Ebonyi State Government is to construct a befitting office for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru made the promise Friday when the State Coordinator of JAMB paid him a courtesy visit to his office.
The Governor who described JAMB as a key player in the education sector, assured them of his government’s readiness to support any course that will lead to the actualisation of his vision to expand access to education and win the war against illiteracy and ignorance.
” The last time I visited where you use as office presently, I was not happy because it was not befitting for an important Agency such as JAMB.”
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mrs Doris Enoch lauded the Governor for the construction of Amagu/ Nnorom access road to the JAMB’s temporary office, which according to her hindered some of their operations because of access to the road and insecurity before the Governor’s intervention.
The Governor earlier played host to the Members of the Governing Council of Federal College of Education Technical, Isu led by the Chairman of the council, Barr. Mohammed Sani Takori where advocated the review of the curriculum for Colleges of Education to enable them to produce employable graduates.
In an address, the Provost of the College, Prof. Reuben Okechukwu said the college is poised to train, teach, and equip the students to become professionals and fit to handle teaching jobs in line with the National Policy on Education and requirements of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
