Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru
The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has appointed two Vice Chancellors for the Universities of ICT, Oferekpe Agbaja, in Izzi Local Government, and that of Aeronautical Engineering in Ezza, all in Ebonyi State.
The appointments were approved during the State Executive Council Meeting on Monday, August 19, 2024, following a voting session by Members of the Council.
The Council approved the appointment of Prof. Ernest I. Egba as the Vice Chancellor of the University of ICT, Oferekpe Agbaja. He is a Professor of Civil Engineering at Ebonyi State University. Conversely, Prof. Patrick Nwofe was appointed Vice Chancellor of Aeronautical Engineering University, Ezza. He is a Solid State and Solar Energy Physics Professor at Ebonyi State University.
They were sworn in on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, by the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Ebonyi State, Prof. Amari Omaka (SAN). The new Vice Chancellors are expected to move immediately and formulate and structure the necessary academic calendars, courses of studies, and other relevant details as the University buildings rise.
