The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru wants women to inculcate in their children, the culture and traditions of their communities.
He made the call while speaking at the flag-off of the Ebonyi Women 2024 August Meeting held at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki.
The Governor said the culture and traditions of Ebonyi people placed a premium on discipline and hard work, stressing that it will also discourage the children from engaging in vices.
The Governor also urged mothers to remain committed to their complementary roles by assisting their husbands in building virile homes.
“The theme for this year’s meeting which is “a wise woman builds her home ” is very apt because it reminds you of your expected roles in the family”
He commended Ebonyi women for turning out in their numbers to participate in the meeting and urged them to take the lectures seriously.
