39 existing secondary schools in Ebonyi State have started receiving new structures and environments, upgraded as model secondary schools in the State.
The Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru hinted that these schools are spread across the 13 Local Government Areas of the State, 3 per Local Government Area. These schools were selected according to the highest number of students registered for the previous WAEC exercise. This is to ensure there is good population for maximum impact in the society.
The new structures contain 22 classroom blocks, offices, and other needed elements to create a standard student learning environment. Governor Nwifuru noted that digital components for the schools like computer sets have been paid for 100 percent, while furnishing will be done in early 2025.
Ebonyi State’s 2024 Budget has Education, Health, Human Capital Development, and Rural Infrastructure as the cardinal areas.
